One style that has taken some time for me to warm to is modern. Before I thought modern houses had no personality or charm, that they were created just to make a style statement. I've realized that modern style doesn't have to mean one floor houses in the woods with barely any furniture. It can mean loft apartments with spiral staircases, monochrome and leather, wide open spaces, industrial lighting, state of the art stainless steel kitchen appliances mixed with marble countertops, sunken living rooms and wooden beams.
