Style: Black Out

"I'll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color," is how the saying goes. And for me, this quote applies more than I can say. Black is my favorite color to wear. I wear it year round, buying black summer dresses, black jackets, black booties, black jeans consistently. I go shopping and wish they made certain pieces in black so I could convince myself to buy them. I don't know what it is about black (maybe because it matches my soul... just kidding... not really), but over 50% of my closet is black. Here are some all black outfits that have been inspiring my outfits this year. (I know one has a non-black blouse, but let's just pretend it's black)

Inspiration: WeWoreWhat (Part 4)

In case you don't know, I am moving to New York City! I am so beyond excited, this is a dream come true. But what you probably know is that I'm obsessed with Danielle Bernstein's (of WeWoreWhat) style, and she posts a lot of NYC shots on her Instagram that make me want move in day to come a lot quicker.

Style: Bandana Scarves / 70s Fashion

Bandana scarves have been popping up everywhere recently! I think they are so versatile and can be worn with a variety of different outfit styles, from urban grunge to seventies summer. The seventies styles have been back in fashion lately: flare jeans, fringe, bandana scarves, peasant blouses, denim on denim. Combining all of these styles into one outfit can be overwhelming and costume-y; however, if you take one or two individual pieces and work them into your everyday style, it can work very well. Here is how I incorporated the bandana scarf, along with some other seventies fashion pieces, into my style.

Style: Flare Jeans

I just bought myself a pair of flare jeans for the summer. Never in a million years did I think I would like flare jeans again (I had a lovely pair back in 2nd grade, if I do say so myself), and never did I think they would be so easy to style. Here are some Polyvore sets that I've created with flare jeans! (You can also see them in my previous post here)

Inspiration: Museum of Fine Arts Boston

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is one of my favorite art museums of all time. With a wide range of collections from all over the world and across history, there is a wing that will captivate you for hours, no matter what kind of art you're interested in. I've been there twice in the past few months, once with my best friends and once with my mother (an art history major). Here are some shots that I took with my phone, mostly of contemporary and impressionist pieces.

Here is what I'm still lusting over for the spring going into summer!

The Edit: Winter / Spring Haul

Here are some of the pieces I've purchased (mostly on sale) over the past several weeks. Keep in mind that I am not trying to brag or show off, I simply thought this would make a nice blog post! I've grown out of a lot of my closet and donated a great deal to charity, so this is filling the cracks of what I need. They are not all exact pieces, but mostly similars. I've noticed you can't keep black out of my wardrobe, even in the spring! xx

The Edit: Polyvore (Part 3)

Wow, long time no post. There really are no excuses, but I have been super busy lately and uninspired in terms of blogging; however, I've been getting back into fashion sets on Polyvore recently. Here is what I've come up with! These sets have inspired my recent purchases, and I'm sure a haul post will be coming your way soon. xx
