Style: White Walls // Wood Floors

As you may have been able to tell from my previous interior design posts, I'm very minimalist when it comes to walls, structure and floors. Though I may love elegant, Parisian details and eclectic furniture, I like to keep everything else simple to make it easy to build off of. The classic combination of white walls and light wood floors is my absolute favorite. I find it so soothing and beautiful. Here are some of my favorite rooms featuring just that.

The Edit: Zara Dresses

Zara is by far my favorite brand of high street clothing. Their newest collection for the spring and summer is absolutely killing it, each piece is so on point. I especially love their dresses right now. Here are some Polyvore sets styling my favorite dresses from their collection!

Style: Denim Dresses

I love denim! A trend that I've seen showing up a lot in stores and online are full out denim dresses, rompers and boiler suits. Here are some Polyvore sets that I've come up with to show you how I would style all denim pieces.

Inspiration: Chloé SS15

I've already told you how much I love this collection. It's the dress. That dress is absolute perfection in my eyes. And the gladiator sandals complete the look to reach a whole new level for perfection. I'm at a total loss for words. If I could design the perfect summer dress, it would probably look just like this. Here are some photos and sets I've made to inspire you.

Local Love: florijnHOME

I just went to the cutest interior design store just outside of Boston called Florijn. I got so much inspiration for my future dorm room and my little dream loft in my head. Here are some photos I took!

Style: Scallops

Beach vibes and flowing, bohemian pieces are rolling in along with spring and soon summer, and I couldn't be happier. I'm so ready to break out the lighter color palettes and hit the beach. One detail I'm seeing a lot with summer collections is scalloped edges. Here is my take on this trend.

Fashion Favorites: The Met Gala 2015 (China: Through the Looking Glass)

Here are my favorite looks from the Met Gala last night! Warning, there are a LOT of pictures. The theme this year was "China: Through the Looking Glass," in honor of the Met's newest exhibition. I think you'll be able to tell who my favorite was by the end of this post (hint: she probably wakes up like that).

Style: Baby Blue

Recently I've been loving monochrome outfits with hints of soft, baby blue / periwinkle accents. For someone who struggles to incorporate color into her wardrobe, I think this color is perfect (and it makes my eyes pop!). I have an old baby blue bag from Zara that I adore, so here are some sets inspired by just that.

Inspiration: Erin Hanson (The Poetic Underground)

Erin Hanson is a 19 year old Australian poet who became famous through her website The Poetic Underground, which she launched in 2011. She has published two books of her poetry, which I am dying to get my hands on, as well as set up a service where she writes and sends personalized poetry to people all over the world. Poetry and I have a love hate relationship. There are poems I despise, and poems that I can truly connect to, that touch my soul. Hanson's poems do just that. Her poetry often uses everyday items and concepts to create metaphors that reveal great truths about life, love and our society, themes which are often hard to talk about in day to day conversation. Here are some of my favorite poems by her.

Inspiration: Morocco

As I think about life at university, I think about study abroad options and where I might like to visit during and after that time. One of those places is Morocco. My parents had me watch Casablanca when I was a freshman in high school, and that sparked my interest in the city and the country. The architecture and culture I later spent hours researching sealed the deal. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the amazing country and its architecture.

Style: Flare Overalls?

I have seen tons of celebrities wearing flare overalls lately, especially this lovely Frame Denim pair in a darker wash. I was skeptical about them at first, but I've discovered with the right accessories, they can be a perfect statement piece in any closet. Here are some sets in which I've styled various pairs of flare overalls.

Style: Black Out

"I'll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color," is how the saying goes. And for me, this quote applies more than I can say. Black is my favorite color to wear. I wear it year round, buying black summer dresses, black jackets, black booties, black jeans consistently. I go shopping and wish they made certain pieces in black so I could convince myself to buy them. I don't know what it is about black (maybe because it matches my soul... just kidding... not really), but over 50% of my closet is black. Here are some all black outfits that have been inspiring my outfits this year. (I know one has a non-black blouse, but let's just pretend it's black)

Inspiration: WeWoreWhat (Part 4)

In case you don't know, I am moving to New York City! I am so beyond excited, this is a dream come true. But what you probably know is that I'm obsessed with Danielle Bernstein's (of WeWoreWhat) style, and she posts a lot of NYC shots on her Instagram that make me want move in day to come a lot quicker.

Style: Bandana Scarves / 70s Fashion

Bandana scarves have been popping up everywhere recently! I think they are so versatile and can be worn with a variety of different outfit styles, from urban grunge to seventies summer. The seventies styles have been back in fashion lately: flare jeans, fringe, bandana scarves, peasant blouses, denim on denim. Combining all of these styles into one outfit can be overwhelming and costume-y; however, if you take one or two individual pieces and work them into your everyday style, it can work very well. Here is how I incorporated the bandana scarf, along with some other seventies fashion pieces, into my style.

Style: Flare Jeans

I just bought myself a pair of flare jeans for the summer. Never in a million years did I think I would like flare jeans again (I had a lovely pair back in 2nd grade, if I do say so myself), and never did I think they would be so easy to style. Here are some Polyvore sets that I've created with flare jeans! (You can also see them in my previous post here)

Inspiration: Museum of Fine Arts Boston

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is one of my favorite art museums of all time. With a wide range of collections from all over the world and across history, there is a wing that will captivate you for hours, no matter what kind of art you're interested in. I've been there twice in the past few months, once with my best friends and once with my mother (an art history major). Here are some shots that I took with my phone, mostly of contemporary and impressionist pieces.

The Edit: Winter / Spring Haul

Here are some of the pieces I've purchased (mostly on sale) over the past several weeks. Keep in mind that I am not trying to brag or show off, I simply thought this would make a nice blog post! I've grown out of a lot of my closet and donated a great deal to charity, so this is filling the cracks of what I need. They are not all exact pieces, but mostly similars. I've noticed you can't keep black out of my wardrobe, even in the spring! xx

The Edit: Polyvore (Part 3)

Wow, long time no post. There really are no excuses, but I have been super busy lately and uninspired in terms of blogging; however, I've been getting back into fashion sets on Polyvore recently. Here is what I've come up with! These sets have inspired my recent purchases, and I'm sure a haul post will be coming your way soon. xx

Inspiration: Indie / Artist Studio

I'm not the most artistic person, I'm creative in different ways, but I so appreciate artist's studios and apartments - the apartment becomes their masterpiece. This picture above is by far one of my favorite pictures of an interior of all time. The wall mural's colors go so well with the colors of the furniture and rug. Here are some more photos of indie / artist studio interiors that I love. I love how the artist (I believe his name is Martyn Thompson) uses his space freely, as his canvas, so he can express himself at any time.

Inspiration: London

London has always been at the top on my list of places to visit. My friends and family who have visited can never stop talking about it, and British culture has captivated Americans for years. The city's dark beauty is breathtaking - here are some of my favorite photos that show just that.

My Polyvore first started out as all fashion sets, and fashion is still a big part of what I love to do. Here are my favorite fashion sets that I've made!
